In Memoriam Of

Norine Marcia Wright

Obituary

Norine Marcia Wright gained her heavenly wings on Wednesday July 28, 2021 at the age of 64 after a courageous battle with cancer.

It would be wrong to say that Norine - or Renie as she was known to family - lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Renie stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Renie. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn't mean she lost her fight.

Norine is preceded in death by her loving husband Vincent Wright, whom she married on May 19, 1979, mother Margaret Stewart and father Vandell Stewart.

Norine is lovingly remembered by her daughters Tracy Marcine Stewart and Courtney Nicole Ramirez (Ricardo) and son Vincent Walter Wright (Paula); as well as her grandchildren, Christopher Anton Williams, Jasmine Marcia Stewart, Madison Carter Wright, Grace Elidia Ramirez, and great granddaughter Mya Rose Williams.

Norine was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 3, 1957.

She eventually became one of eleven siblings: Janice Stewart, Angela Morris (the late Willis), Candace Jordan (Alfred), Henry Stewart, Jennifer Penn (Richard), Margaret Stewart, Lisa Stewart, Vandell Stewart Jr., Julie Stewart, Nina Newberry (Kenneth). Growing up, as each child aged and more were born, the older siblings were put in charge of the younger ones. Norine often reminisced about her brother Vandell Stewart Jr. who was her charge. Norine's always-on smile and shining personality will also be remembered by a host of loving nieces, nephews and other relatives and many caring friends.

Norine graduated from CVS high school in 1975. Married with two kids, Norine held positions in sales and retail before starting her career at the Chicago Stock Exchange where she would become a Department Supervisor. There she would meet her dear, lifelong friend Veronica Grey. A consummate caregiver and contributor to her family, Norine continued to work outside the home even after the birth of her third child. Later in life, Norine earned an associate degree in Management from American Intercontinental University.

This degree helped propel Norine's lengthy career at Bunge Foods which spanned several years and two states (Illinois and Missouri). Shortly after the death of her husband, Norine retired and returned to the Chicago area. In retirement, Norine was able to reconnect with her true passion: her family. She helped raise her granddaughter Grace (now 5 years old), often visited with her son Vincent and his family in West Virginia and spent many phone hours catching up with her siblings. Norine enjoyed jazz music, good food, the beach, and reading but found that her greatest joy was her grandchildren. After spending her life with her soulmate, Vincent Wright, Norine sometimes found living on her own difficult. But her family always centered her.

Norine met many people in her life's journey, leaving her imprint on many hearts. Norine's beautiful spirit had a knack of pulling people in - even without her meaning to. She will be fondly remembered as a compassionate and a loving human being and her spirit will live on in her family and friends forever. Foremost, she will truly be missed.

Please join us in celebrating the life and love of Norine Marcia Wright, nee Stewart, age 64, of North Riverside formerly of Country Club Hills, IL and Wentzville, MO.
