Catherine "Kay" Reidy

Obituary

Catherine "Kay" Reidy (nee Sullivan) was born on June 22, 1925, in Bocarnagh, Glengariff, Co. Cork, Ireland to Patrick and Annie O'Sullivan. Kay is survived by her children Kevin, Patrick, and Chris (Brian) Bewley, grandchildren, Caroline and Sarah, brother, Dan O'Sullivan, many wonderful nieces and nephews, especially Anne (John) Anthony and Maureen (Michael) Tevault, her kind and loving neighbors in Oak Lawn, and her many friends. Kay was predeceased by her husband of forty-five years, Pat Reidy, and eleven of her brothers and sisters, Jeremiah, Ellen, Nancy, Agnes, Mary, Sheila, Margaret, Hannah, John, Pat, and Mick.

Kay immigrated to England, and then Canada before settling in Chicago. Her happiest days were living in Oak Lawn, surrounded by amazing neighbors who were especially kind to her in her later years. For Kay, a stranger was just a friend she hadn't met yet; her hospitality was legendary. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 28th 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Andrew J. McGann & Son Funeral Home, 10727 S. Pulaski Road, Chicago, IL.

Funeral Friday, July 29th prayers 9:15 am from Andrew J. McGann Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 10621 S. Kedvale Ave., Oak Lawn, IL. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip, IL. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.andrewmcgann.com for the Reidy family.
