Sister M. June Puishys, SSC, 94, beloved member of the Sisters of St. Casimir for 64 years, passed away on June 7, 2023. Sister M. June worked at Holy Cross Hospital as a Registered Nurse in Chicago for 34 years. Many of those years were caring for the newborn babies in the nursery. Sister M. June is survived by her sister, Sister Mary Lawrence Puishys, her nieces and nephews, June, Joseph, Jr., Rachel, Elizabeth, Nancy, Donna, Robert, Jr., Ellen, William, Jr., and Stephen, as well as grandnieces and grandnephews. Her parents, Peter and Anna nee Ackalitis Puishys; two sisters, Dorothy Giles, Mary June Turner, and her brothers, Joseph, Robert and William Puishys, niece Jane Puishys and nephew Ralph Turner, III preceded Sister M. June in death. Visitation at Franciscan Village, 1270 Village Drive, Lemont, IL, Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. to be followed by the Mass of Resurrection at 11:30 a.m. Interment, St. Casimir Cemetery.
