Obituary

Jean L. Mann (nee Hovorka), age 86, of Naperville, IL. passed away Monday, March 22, 2021 in Naperville, IL. She was born on December 6, 1934 in Chicago, IL., formally of Maywood, IL. Jean was a Naperville resident since 1989.

She was a longtime parishioner at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, in Naperville, IL. Jean was a housekeeping aid at Loyola Medical Center, in Maywood, IL, before retiring in 1989 after 19 years of service.

She had an overwhelming love and compassion for all animals. Jean had a sweet soul full of resilience and met every challenge with grace, and a loving heart. Her strong Catholic faith brought her through many of her physical challenges throughout her life.

She was a lifelong friend to, Barbara Odenkirk, of Naperville, and an honorary member of her family. Jean was a cherished Grandmother figure to Jennifer (Mario) Hicks. She is survived by her many friends at St. Patrick’s Residence and was a loving aunt to one niece and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R. Richard Mann who passed away in 1962; parents, Thomas and Ysobel Hovorka, her sister Aneda Williams, and her brother James T. Hovorka.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 29, 2021 from 3:00 p.m.– 6:00 p.m. at the Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Homes & Crematory, 516 S. Washington St., Naperville, IL. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 36 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville, IL. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven, Hillside, IL . In lieu of flowers memorials to American Cancer Society.
