VICTOR C. LEFFELMAN, 81, beloved husband of Carol (nee Korth), passed away peacefully at home on March 28 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was the loving father of Christina (Brian) Farbelow, Renee (late Michael) Payne, Mark (Lesli) Wieczorek and Marissa Follett (Robert Bullock); dearest grandfather of Lindsey Smith, Lauren Franzen, Leanne Smith, Vaughn Payne, Cameron Wieczorek, Kendall Wieczorek, Tristan Wieczorek, Rylee Follett, Cody Follett and Lillian Bullock; cherished great grandfather of Scarlett and Olivia. Vic was the devoted son of the late Esther (nee Becker) and late Vincent V. Leffelman; dear brother of Mary Weaver and the late Vera, late Rita, late Shirley and late Joyce; fond brother-in-law of Wayne Korth and late Warren Korth.
Vic spent his career with Nalco Chemical Company in both Chicago and Naperville. After his retirement in 1992, he founded and successfully operated Leffelman’s Self-Help Construction Company. He was an avid fisherman who fished the lakes in the Chicago area, including Lake Michigan for salmon.
Carol and Vic had a Model A Ford Roadster that they used frequently for trips into the Chicago Loop. This car brought both of them much joy. In addition, they traveled extensively to Japan, China, South Korea, Greece, Santorini and Italy. They also took a Caribbean cruise to the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and the Panama Canal.
