John T. McKay, passed away on January 28, 2022. He was born on February 14, 1964 in Harvey, IL, and has been a long time resident of New Lenox, IL. The son of John and Rosemary McKay who preceded him in death. John, who liked to be called Jack, married the love of his life, Nicole McKay, nee Caton, on October 3, 1987. They enjoyed 35 years of loving marriage until his passing. He was a well-loved and greatly appreciated man, known for his extraordinary heart of generosity and service. He truly was a jack of all trades, but in this case a master of much. He was proud of the work he did as a senior technician and plant coordinator. He loved woodworking, cars, traveling with his wife, and helping his family and friends. More importantly, he adored being a grandfather to his two grandchildren, Sofija and Tadija Hickey. He will be remembered as a remarkable husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend. Jack is survived by his wife, Nicole McKay; his three children, Kyle McKay, Ryan McKay, and Kelly (Robert) Hickey; his two grandchildren, Sofija and Tadija Hickey; and his four sisters, Jeanine (James) Coleman, Julie (Robert) Audy, Mary Pat (James) Glauber, and Nancy (James) Watt. Jack will be so profoundly missed. In lieu of flowers, a memorial in his name to the St Jude Children's Research Hospital would be appreciated. Visitation will be on Friday, February 4, 2022, from 3-8 pm at Hickey Memorial Chapel, 4201 W. 147th St. Midlothian, IL 60445. Funeral Saturday 9:30 am prayers at the funeral home going to St. Christopher Church for 10 am Mass. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery in Alsip.
