Rosie B. Akins was born to her loving parents Lewis and Mary Lou (Roby) Mason on December 30th, 1932 in West Point, Mississippi. She was granted her angel wings February 28th, 2021 and spent her final days surrounded by her loving family.
Rosie accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. She worked at St. Joseph hospital in Environmental services for 30 years. After retiring from St. Joseph hospital she worked at Blair's laundromat for 15 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband George Akins, her parents Lewis and Mary Lou (Roby) Mason, two sisters Roberta Robinson of Waterloo Iowa and Mary Mason of West Point Mississippi, six brothers Lewis Mason Jr. of Hampton Virginia, David Lee Mason of Illinois and Eugene Mason, Robert Mason, and Walter James Mason, all of West Point Mississippi, John Robert Mason of Waterloo Iowa, along with her beloved Great Granddaughter Faith Johnson of Illinois.
Survived by her daughter Dorothy Ann Hart (Alexander Hart Jr) and Her stepdaughter Patricia Akins. Her brother Barney Mason, and sisters Katie Mason and Dora Virgin.
Grandchildren: Katrina Johnson (Robert Johnson), Traci Hagerman, Sherita Hart, David Hart, Patricia Hart, Natalie Hart, Isadore Hart and Raniyah Akins.
Great Grandchildren: Jerjuan Davis, Donye Anderson, Kannon Evans, Dion Campbell, Robert Johnson lll ,and a host of other family and friends.
Rosie was best known for her benevolence and wisdom. She always shared her time and experiences. She provided sound advice to help others avoid the "pitfalls" of life. Rosie was admired by many and she shared kindness with everyone within her path. She will be truly missed by everyone who knew her. She lived a long life of love and light. Shared joy, spread laughter and always provided a safe haven to others in need. As long as she was there you would know that everything would be alright. She is and will forever be our guardian angel.
